TOTAL SUCCESS OF THE FIRST COMPETITION DAY OF THE TAUROMAQUIA OF 2018

On October 9, 2018 was held in the bullring of Valencia, the 'Day of Bullfighting', a day to benefit the Foundation of the Bull of Lydia (FTL) of enormous success and significance beyond the economic results.

The FTL is grateful for the commitment of all the professionals involved in the success of the first 'Day of bullfighting', whose selfless participation has made it possible to obtain a net benefit of 257,493 euros.

The amount received will be used to consolidate the FTL as a civil entity dedicated to the defense and promotion of bullfighting and the gradual implementation of the strategic plan in which it works.

As announced, 6,000 euros of the proceeds will go to the Fundación Oncohematología Infantil, in memory of Adrián Hinojosa.

The morning cuts and the evening festival was a real success with a large influx of fans. 11 ears were cut, a ring of "Garcigrande" was given round the ring. The livestock farms were: Juan Pedro Domecq, Garcigrande, Fermín Bohórquez, Núñez del Cuvillo and Daniel Ruiz.
The participating bullfighters were the rejoneador Fermín Bohórquez, Enrique Ponce, El Juli, José María Manzanares, Román, Álvaro Lorenzo and the local bullfighter Borja Collado.

The FTL will be able to deepen in actions like the creation of provincial chapters, the project of recovery of squares, the promotion of university bullfighting associations, the legal defense, the political action or the mediatic presence, as well as to open new lines of action, all of in accordance with the annual program and budget approved by the Board of the FTL.

Victorino Martín, the president of the FTL adds "we are still very far from the great animalistic entities that are promoting a change in the way we relate to animals, with millions of partners and budget, but these 257,493 are going to serve as a boost in the path of growth to give the cultural battle in which we are immersed. "

The success of 'Bullfighting Day' has been possible thanks to the disinterested involvement of all breeders, all bullfighters and their crews, the trimmers who participated in the historic morning contest, thanks to Canal Toros and thanks to all the staff of the bullring, from security to the medical team, which also allocated their fees to the common objectives of the FTL. And, of course, thanks to the 14,000 fans who attended this day of pride, union and celebration.
